PERSONAL BEST

My friend runs in marathons and often brags about his best time. To be polite, I asked him a question about training for the big race. Somewhere between his choice of running shoes, the ratio of carbohydrates to protein and wind velocities in the month of October, I felt I had endured my own marathon. Too bad I could not brag about how long I pretended to act interested because I believe it was my personal best.
