Buddha set up a little shop down in Chinatown. Passersby would drop in asking to have their fortunes read. He always said the same thing. “If you’re looking for the future go buy a fortune cookie. I deal in the now.” Most would walk away but a few stayed for enlightenment. When the enlightened would leave, Buddha would give them a fortune cookie just for the hell of it.
