Hook your dreams to a star. These were the words of encouragement the old neighbor lady back in Crowheart, Wyoming told Buddy Spencer when he left for the big city. That platitude meant little in the depressing months Buddy spent without work or friends in Los Angeles. He finally found a temporary job decorating a mall at the beginning of the holiday season. As the crane rose, Buddy reached out to adjust the ornamental Christmas star. High above the mall, he looked out across the horizon and saw the ocean in the distance. A feeling of infinite possibility overtook him. He touched the star and hooked his dream.
