Superman was always busy saving the world from asteroids, evil geniuses, aliens bent on earth’s destruction and the occasional rescue of Lois Lane, accident prone reporter for the Daily Planet. He built a place where he could escape, be alone and not hear the constant cries of “Save us Superman.” Yes, it was true he was invulnerable, but humans were a real pain in the ass.
