I passed her everyday on my way to school. She would look at me, lift her soft drink and smile. I wasn’t use to having a beautiful girl smile at me so it gave me a small degree of confidence as I approached the soul crushing experience of the day. Now many years later, I travel back to my hometown and see her faded from the years. I think soon she will disappear. Her smile is still there, a smile that shined a little light onto my childhood heart.
