I pulled into the Clown Motel somewhere off Highway 95. I ask the manager how much for a room. He tells me a single is $40, a double $50 and if you ask for the Clown Special, it’s 75 bucks for a 100 occupants. I see various goofy clown bicycles and cars parked outside the different rooms. I go to my tiny room and decide to clean up. As I stand there stark naked in the shower, confetti pours down over me. I adjust the shower head and get sprayed in the face with seltzer. I start to remember why I never thought clowns were that funny. Still, this is better than my nightmare experience at the Mime Motel. I mean who has windows with no glass.
