Akiko met Kenji twenty years ago during Godzilla’s savage attack on the city of Tokyo. Amidst the destruction and chaos, they fell in love and were married as the city began to rebuild. The passing of time, economic realities and a million petty little arguments caused the passion to fade. Now, whenever Godzilla returns to destroy the city, all Akiko can feel is the sadness of a now distant romance.
