NO TOUCHING

passion-of-the-guard

The guard noticed on several occasions that the same young woman would come into the museum and deliberately touch works of art. He made several attempts to get her attention, but she never looked his way. Before he could say anything, she was gone. One day, he saw her rubbing her hands across a priceless sculpture. He knew he would be fired if he did not act, so he approached her. He was about to speak when their eyes met. Instead of scolding her, the words coming from his mouth were… “Would you like to have lunch?” She answered yes and he removed his polyester jacket, placed it on the floor along with his badge and waved goodbye at the security camera. As they exited together through Pop Art, the Abstract Expressionists, and the Impressionists, they both gently touched the art all the way out the door.
